I received an e-mail from one of my Dearest friends the other day. That's right, The Brianna aka Queen Bree, Nana-butt, Net Hater, Super Freak. For those of you unfortunate enough not to know her, she's an old family friend that Ive known since Kindergarten who is a middle child (much like myself) and now a Not-So-Desperate Housewife. In fact, I remember giving her and Mackenzie Tharp a hard time back in First Grade; good times!
Anyhow, she told me something that was so dead on and, on top of that, she said it in words I could relate to. She enlighten me through my native tongue, 'Teen Movie Speak'! That's right, she explained it all like Melissa Joan Hart! She told me how I was SO much like James Van Der Beek on Dawson's Creek when he realized that movies were all he was and ended up throwing out his movie stuff so he could re-invent himself and make a new name for himself...or whatever....
That is SO true! Up until now my shining achievement was getting into UC Davis. I worked unbelievably hard for two years straight and am very proud of the result. But when I take a step back there's nothing that extraordinary about it. At the time it was huge because I went from Taco Bell employee to College Man. But now, I'm graduated, working a job that's not my passion and spending my free time wondering whats next. My Brilliant Brianna has shown me the light and it's about time I throw on some 75 spf and deal with it or sit back and get a tan!
Next Time on "Joey's Creek": Brianna teaches Joey a valuable lesson on tough love!

Hey buddy, its Neil. You have a lot to be proud of! At least you finished college! I dropped out and became that Taco Bell employee (well, it was Abercrombie and Pottery Barn, but you get the picture). We always need to re-evaluate and see what's next. I'm finding out the hard way as we speak.
